Fatal crash closes Highway 401 near Brockville

The OPP had to shut down a portion of the eastbound 401 near Brockville for more than 12 hours because of a fatal collision.

Officials said that two transport trucks were involved in a crash that happened around 7 p.m., Thursday.

At least one person died but police have not released any additional details about those involved in the crash.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 had been closed between County Road 2 and Stewart Boulevard for more than 12 hours. The eastbound lanes were opened shortly after 7 a.m. Friday morning.
