According to Bell Canada, customers in parts of eastern Ontario and Quebec experienced service disruptions earlier Thursday.

“Service has now been restored,” Bell said on its Twitter page. “Our team is continuing to investigate the cause.”

Virgin Mobile is also reporting problems with its service.

The carrier started receiving reports of outages at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Among the most reported locations with troubles are Ottawa, Hamilton, Niagara Falls, Montreal, Kitchener, Welland, Toronto, Brampton and St. Catherines.

The company says 58 per cent of reported outages were for mobile phone service, followed by mobile internet (32 per cent) and eight per cent of customers experiencing outages reported complete blackouts.
