New OC Transpo boss hired from Montreal

Ottawa has hired one of Montreal's top transit officials to head up OC Transpo.

Renée Amilcar is an industrial engineer with nearly 20 years experience at the Société de transport de Montréal (STM). Most recently, she's been working as the STM's head of bus services.

Before working for Montreal's transit system, Amilcar worked at Nortel, as well as Pratt and Whitney.

The City of Ottawa says she's already begun transitioning into the role of General Manager of Transportation Services, which is being vacated by the retiring John Manconi.
