After releasing over a dozen photos of individuals possibly associated with the massive destruction in the Sandy Hill neighbourhood after the Panda Games, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has charged three individuals.

Two 20-year-old men from Ottawa and a 22-year-old man from Haliburton have all been charged with one count each of Mischief over $5,000 and one count of unlawful assembly.

The other ten individuals police asked the public to identify on Monday, October 4, have been, but those individuals have not been charged with any crime.

Now, OPS has released another 18 images of persons to identify and is asking for the public’s help in identifying these individuals.

Investigators continue to review images and videos submitted to OPS or gathered by officers from surveillance video or social media.

On Saturday, Oct 2, following the football game between the University of Ottawa’s Gee Gees and Carleton Ravens, celebrations quickly escalated. Thousands of students flooded the Sandy Hill neighbourhood, and some students could be seen on social media flipping a car.

Seven people were taken to hospital with non-serious injuries.

Residents of Sandy Hill, the city, and academic officials, all condemned the action of those involved in the destruction, with some calling to cancel the games altogether.
