OPP lay charges in child luring incidents

A North Dundas man is facing several charges related to an underage person. 

The Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police say the incidents allegedly happened between 2020 and 2022 involving a young female who was known to the accused. 

Matthew Gates, 32, of North Dundas is charged with luring a person under 16, making sexually explicit material available to a person under a16 and criminal harassment. The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Cornwall court next month.

The investigation continues, and police say they would like to speak with anyone who may have information about the case and are urged to call 613-534-2223. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
