Fisher-Price infant rockers recalled following reports of several deaths

A product recall has been issued for Fisher-Price infant rockers that have been blamed for 13 deaths in the U.S.

In a joint statement issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Fisher-Price on Tuesday, June 14, the issues involve two products: the Fisher-Price Infant-to-Toddler Rockers and Newborn-to-Toddler Rockers.

The reported deaths happened between 2009 and 2021.

According to the CPSC, more than 17 million rockers have been sold worldwide since the 1990s.

Health Canada has not issued its own product recall on the rockers but did issues a recall on another Fisher-Price rocking product in June 2021.

At the time, the products included the 4-in-1 Rock ’n Glide Soothers and 2-in-1 Soothe ’n Play Gliders.

Health Canada found that infants who were placed unrestrained in the products were later found on their stomachs and were at risk of suffocation.

However, with these two products, there were no reports of deadly incidents.
