Serious car accident in Kingston, Ont., sends person to hopsital

A serious vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Kingston, Ont., has sent a driver to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to a press release, on Sept. 3 at 7:10 a.m. the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), assisted by Kingston Fire and Rescue and Frontenac Paramedics, responded to the single motor vehicle rollover on the eastbound on-ramp at Gardiners road in Kingston.

The driver's identity is not being released until next of kin can be notified.

Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and collision reconstructionists are on the scene to assist with the investigation.

As of 2:30 p.m., the eastbound on-ramp from southbound Gardiners road, including access to the carpool lot has completely reopened and there are no further traffic disruptions in the area.

Any witnesses to the collision who may have dash cam video are urged to call the Frontenac Detachment of the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
