Hydro Ottawa preparing for power outages ahead of storm

Hydro Ottawa sent an email to customers Tuesday, Dec. 21, warning them to prepare for extended power outages during the incoming winter storm.
Heavy rainfall, a flash freeze and strong winds could cause damage to Hydro infrastructure, according to the utility provide.
Hydro Ottawa is advising residents to charge phones and laptops before the storm arrives the evening of Thursday, Dec. 22, and prepare a basic 72 hour emergency kit, including flashlights, a radio, extra batteries, non-perishable food, a first-aid kit and enough water for up to three days.
Hydro Ottawa says they are preparing now to respond to any potential power outages.
