Police investigating after body discovered in Ottawa River

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has launched an investigation after a body was found in the Ottawa River yesterday afternoon.

In a statement to CityNews Ottawa, the OPS said a body was located floating under the Alexandra Bridge and was removed with the help of officials with the Ottawa Fire Services.

The OPS said the coroner’s office has been contacted and forensic identification will need to happen.

No further details were provided at this time.
