Two men facing charges in connection to Gatineau’s first homicide of the year

The Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) has made arrests in connection to the city’s first homicide of 2023.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18 in the area of Boulevard Montclair and Boulevard St-Joseph.

Police said a man in his 50s was taken to hospital in critical condition, but later died from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 58-year-old Jano Gravelle.

A pair of 19-year-old men are facing charges in connection to Gravelle’s death

Colin Lamarche is facing a charge of first-degree murder, while Isaac Lortie is facing several charges including possession of a loaded restricted firearm without authorization or licence and complicity after the fact of a murder.

The investigation is ongoing and police said other charges could be laid.
