Ottawa firefighters quickly contain high-rise fire in Carlington

There are no injuries reported after a high-rise fire in Ottawa’s Carlington neighbourhood.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to 1485 Caldwell Avenue, between Medford Street and Morisset Avenue, Monday afternoon after multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting visible smoke on the seventh floor.
Responding crews declared a working fire while on route to the scene, and upon arrival, firefighters made their way to the fire unit.
The fire was quickly knocked down and firefighters got to work ventilating the smoke.
An Ottawa fire investigator is working to determine the origin and cause.
