MP Jenna Sudds appointed to federal cabinet

Kanata Carleton Member of Parliament (MP) Jenna Sudds has been appointed to the Liberal federal cabinet.
Sudds, who was first elected MP of the west end riding in the fall of 2021, is serving as the new minister of families, children and social development. She replaces Karina Gould in that role.

She previously served as the city councillor for the Kanata North ward.
Before she joined politics, Sudds was the founding president of the Kanata North Business Association, representing Canada’s largest tech park.
Sudds is the only Ottawa area MP to named to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s cabinet.
Mona Fortier, MP for Ottawa-Vanier, is no longer president of the Treasury Board. Anita Anand now assumes the role previously held by Fortier.
