Police arrest one driver for impaired driving after collision in west end

One person was arrested for impaired driving after Ottawa police officers responded to a collision in the city’s west end on Wednesday, Aug. 23.

In a post on X, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) said there was a collision on Baseline Road and Greenbank Road last evening, “involving several vehicles.”

Two drivers, according to the OPS, were sent to hospital with minor injuries.

This year alone, the OPS said there have been 550 impaired driving-related charges laid by police officers.
