Police suspect Ford Mustang could be linked to unsolved homicide case

Ottawa Police Services (OPS) have evidence to believe the driver or occupant of a truck that fled a traffic stop in early June could be connected to an unsolved homicide.

On June 4, officers attempted to stop a black Ford Mustang near Greenbank Road and Hunt Club Road. When police approached the truck, the driver fled by “u-turning” and going east on Hunt Club Road.

Officials found the vehicle abandoned several hours later.

A forensic exam of the vehicle revealed to investigators the driver or occupant is potentially linked to a historical unsolved homicide.

Police are not revealing which homicide case to protect the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information on who may have been driving the vehicle is being asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit 613-236-1222, extension 5493.
