Police presence slowed down traffic near Arnprior; scene cleared

Ontario Provincial Police cautioned the public of an increased presence near Arnprior on Thursday morning.
According to a post by the force, officers were at the Highway 417 and Highway 17 junction just outside of the Ottawa Valley town. Police said there is no threat to public safety, but commuters experienced a “slight” delay.
Around 6:30 a.m., four police cars were engaged after a call from emergency services reported a driver in medical distress. The driver was stopped and transported to hospital for assessment before officers left.
Just after 9 a.m. police cleared the scene.
