‘Where is mama?’: Family of missing Petawawa woman not giving up hope

The family of a woman who has been missing since the summer of 2023 is renewing a call for help to locate her.

Brianna Traversey was 29 years old when she was last seen leaving her Petawawa home on Aug. 17, 2023, but provincial police say, due to a variety of circumstances, she wasn’t reported missing until Sept. 21 of that year.

Brianna is a mother to two young children, who along with her father Brian Traversey, are still holding out hope for answers.

“I need her to say, ‘I love you Daddy’ again, I need her to say it again,” Traversey said in a new video released by the OPP. “The other thing is, I’ve got two little baby boys who look at me every day, waiting on their mama. One looks spitting image of her and they’re old enough now to talk and ask, ‘where is mama?'”

Brianna, who would now be 30, is described as:

  • 5’8” (173 cm) tall
  • Slim build
  • Shoulder-length hair (possibly dyed brown or red)
  • Several tattoos on hands, arms, and legs (including breast cancer ribbon on left shoulder and a Betty Boop tattoo on her calf)

Anyone with information that could help this investigation is asked to contact the dedicated OPP line at 1-844-677-8050 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
