OPP pups featured in 2025 calendar for charities

Some police canines put their best paw forward in the Ontario Provincial Police’s (OPP) 2025 calendar photoshoot.

The $20 calendar features more than 12 of the force’s pups who help frontline officers in many duties including tracking, sniffing out drugs or weapons and finding physical evidence. For over 50 years, OPP has used dogs in investigations, marking the calendar as not only a great way to support charity but to honour the furry officers.

“It’s a collection that represents some of the best-trained canines in Ontario, known for their strength, agility and determination,” a press release reads.

In the month of December, the calendar features “good boy” Odin, who can be seen doing some training with his handler.

The 3-year-old Belgian Malinois is a part of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry detachment and is trained in drug detection. According to the description, which accompanies all the photos, Odin is staring right at his owner after listening to the obedience command “down.”

“Odin is hoping for a little extra this Christmas,” the blurb reads.

The OPP Youth Foundation, helping disadvantaged youth, and the Friends of the OPP Museum, which promotes the history of the force, will directly benefit from the sale of the calendars. Last year the project raised over $30,000.
