8-year-old killed in rural Ottawa two-vehicle crash

Police are investigating after two vehicles collided at a rural Ottawa intersection, killing a child.

Emergency responders were sent to Nixon Drive and Dalmeny Road in Kars-Osgoode at 11:47 a.m. on Sunday. When they arrived they found a pick-up truck and SUV had crashed.

An 8-year-old girl in the SUV died, and the driver, a woman, suffered minor injuries. In the pickup truck, a 6-year-old suffered minor injuries.

Officers are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage of the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 2345.
