Police chase four teens from Smiths Falls to Spencerville after crime spree

Provincial police have laid charges against multiple youths aged 12 to 15 after several “dangerous” incidents around Smiths Falls and across the Ottawa area.

It started Jan. 1, when a car that had been reported stolen was involved in multiple dangerous driving reports in and around Smiths Falls. In one of the attempts to stop the vehicle in Kemptville, a press release notes that a police officer “narrowly” avoided being struck by the car as the driver tried to run away.

The stolen vehicle ended up going off the road in the Spencerville area, where officers arrested four individuals without further incident. During the arrest, police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, other drugs, alcohol and weapons from the vehicle.
