Two charged with first-degree murder of Barrhaven man

Ottawa police charged two people in connection to the city’s first homicide of the year.

Mia Tejada, 28, and Omar Assaad, 26, both from Ottawa were jointly charged with first-degree murder. They are set to appear in court Jan. 17.

Police responded to calls from Pondhollow Way around 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 10 where they found a dead 58-year-old man. The victim has been identified as Wilson Sabarros.
