Two charged in possession of 160,000 pills following erratic driving
A routine traffic stop on Highway 417 near Hawkesbury led to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seizing a significant quantity of suspected Methamphetamine.
On Wednesday, March 19 — just before 10:30 a.m. — a Hawkesbury OPP officer was patrolling the 417 westbound and stopped a vehicle that was driving erratically.
After an inspection, the officer noted a suspicious material inside the car.

A search warrant was issued following an investigation and an approximately 160,000 suspected Methamphetamine pills were discovered.
According to OPP, a 30-year-old man from Rawdon, Que. has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking;
- Operation of a vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code;
- Failing to comply with a probation order;
- Unsafe move – lane or shoulder;
- Driving with window coated – view obstructed; and
- Possession of unmarked cigarettes.
Additionally, a 31-year-old male from Montreal has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking; and
- Failing to comply with a probation order – three counts.
Both men accused were in custody for bail hearings before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal.
