1 youth arrested, three on the run, in April Place D’Orléans stabbing

Ottawa police laid charges against a youth in connection to an incident that happened last month.

The youth, who can not be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged on May 7 with assault, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and robbery.

Officers were called on April 17 at around 5:00 p.m. for a man who was stabbed at Place D’Orléans. He was transported to hospital with serious injuries and was later in stable condition.

Police say there are three youths still on the run. Due to the act, the names of the accused cannot be provided.

Ottawa Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact the East Criminal Investigation Section at 613-236-1222, extension 3566.
