Charges laid following Arnprior assault

A 20-year-old has been handed a slew of charges following an assault in Arnprior.
Renfrew OPP responded to an assault call around 3:20 p.m. on July 20 in the area of Wolfe Crescent. At the time, police requested that people avoid the area.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old has been charged with the following:
- Assault with a weapon;
- Assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- Take motor vehicle without consent; and
- Assault.
The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
