Child among people treated by paramedics after multi-vehicle crash near Trainyards

Emergency personnel were called for a crash involving multiple vehicles on Thursday morning near Old Ottawa East.

It happened around 9:20 a.m. on Riverside Drive at Industrial Avenue. Three vehicles were involved in the incident.

Ottawa police were on scene directing traffic while paramedics and firefighters assessed people. Officers closed the southbound lanes of Riverside Drive, which reopened just after 10:30 a.m.

Police told CityNews in an email that five people were assessed and treated on scene by paramedics for injuries that were not serious or life-threatening. Two adults and one child were sent to hospital as a result of the collision.

Officers said that the collision is under investigation.
