3 youths charged with distributing child sexual abuse material

Three 17-year-old youths are facing charges following an investigation into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

Leeds County OPP began an investigation on Feb. 23, after a 16-year-old female reported the distribution of her intimate images.

As a result of the investigation, one male and two females, all 17, have been charged with importing, distributing or possessing for the purpose of distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

The two females are also facing a charge of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

The accused have been released from custody pending a later court appearance.

Police say no further information will be disclosed to protect the identity of the victim.
