West end fire causes $75K damage

OTTAWA – Three people were left without a place to stay following a fire in Ottawa’s west end overnight.
Crews were called to 29 Rockway Cres. just before 1 a.m. Monday, where a blaze had broken out in the end unit of an 8-unit row house.
The fire is believed to have started in the roof area, and caused $75,000 damage.
There were no injuries, though one firefighter was assessed by paramedics on scene.
The Salvation Army was called to assist the occupants of the affected unit.
