Public meetings tonight on opioid crisis

OTTAWA — Two meetings tonight aim to provide information to parents, worried about the opioid crisis and their children.
The capital’s largest school board is hosting a series of meetings for parents concerned about the powerful illegal drugs and overdoses. The latest is tonight at Glebe Collegiate Institute, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The meeting will also include representatives from Ottawa Police, Ottawa Public Health, and Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services. More meetings are planned later this month in Gloucester and Barrhaven.
Another meeting is being held at the Kanata Recreation Complex; Sean O’Leary and his We The Parents meet at 7 p.m. O’Leary says the purpose of the meeting is to discuss accomplishments to this point and future plans.
