Gatineau man faces several child pornography charges

By Stuart McGinn

A Gatineau man is facing several child pornography charges after an investigation that began in April, after they were contacted by officials at US Homeland Security.

Officials contacted Ottawa Police regarding a man who claimed to live in Ottawa, who was looking online for a mother with a young daughter to have sexual relations with.

The man later began communicating with an undercover federal agent.

Patrick Clement, 36, is facing several charges, including sexual offence against a child under 18, child luring, and making child pornography.

Clement is scheduled to appear in court July 26.

Police say they are concerned there could be more victims in the Ottawa, Gatineau, and Greater Toronto areas.

Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS), toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or downloading the Ottawa Police app.
