By Mike Vlasveld

A 23-year-old man is facing an assault with a weapon charge after an incident at Bon Echo Provincial Park.

Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to an altercation at the park along County Road 41 on June 25, around 3:31 p.m.

Their investigation showed that a person was acting erratically, screaming and yelling. That person then approached two other campers and threatened to hit one of them with a stick.

The suspect followed through on the threat and was restrained by the victim's friend as well as an off-duty park warden until police arrived.

The victim received minor injuries.

Armand Joshua Guanlao, of Scarborough, will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on July 30.
