Second arrest made in Nepean homicide

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has arrested and charged a second man in the stabbing death of Christopher Avery Houghton in a Nepean neighbourhood.

Houghton was killed on July 22, on Sherry Lane.

Erick Silva-Stone, 19, of Ottawa, has been charged with second degree murder.

He appeared in court Thursday, August 5, and was remanded into custody.

Nicholas Cox, 20, of Ottawa, was the first to be charged with second degree murder following the incident.

The OPS' investigation continues and officers are asking anyone with information to contact its homicide unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
