A 67-year-old Ottawa retiree plans to set some of his $100,000 winnings aside for home renovations and put the rest into savings.
Stelian Aldea matched the last six of seven Encore numbers, in exact order, in the September 1 Lotto Max draw to win.
He discovered his win on his OLG Lottery App.
“I saw the ‘Big Winner’ message but didn’t see how much I won at first. I was very happy,” he shared.
Aldea says he hasn’t told anyone about his big win just yet.
“I was waiting for my cheque first! Now I’ll share the good news with some people close to me,” he smiled. “This win is a big help, especially during this pandemic. It feels good to be able to claim my prize. I couldn’t sleep at night.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Quickie on Donald Street in Ottawa.
