Motorcyclist airlifted from crash scene south of Smiths Falls

An Ornge air ambulance touched down after a single-vehicle collision on Country Road 17 just outside of Jasper, Ont, Thursday.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the crash happened at the intersection of Kitley Line 2 and County Road 17, about 10 minutes south of Smiths Falls.

The driver of a motorcycle was taken to hospital with what were first considered serious injuries, but the OPP says those injuries have since been downgraded.

Roads in the area have reopened and the collision is under investigation.
