3 charged in Hawkesbury drug investigation

Three people are facing charges following the execution of a search warrant that led to the seizure of 10 grams of suspected cocaine, among other controlled substances.

The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Portelance Avenue on Feb. 27. During the search, officers seized more than 10 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately two grams of suspected crack cocaine and 20 suspected hydromorphone tablets. They also seized around $4,200 in cash and other items typically associated with trafficking.

Three people were arrested at the scene.

Kayla Longpre, 37, of Hawkesbury and Jeremiah Myre, 43, of North Glengarry Township, are each charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking; and
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Myre was also charged with failing to comply with a probation officer.

Both Longpre and Myre have been released from custody pending a future court appearance.

Mathieu Menard, 46, of The Nation Township has been charged with failure to comply with an undertaking and has been held for a bail hearing.
