Special bus service is scheduled to run through Friday during peak hours between downtown and Tunney's Pasture, Hurdman Stations and now Blair Station has been added to assist commuters.
As a result of the number of buses needed to supply the routes, 50 morning bus trips, and 75 afternoon trips are cancelled on Monday. A statement released by OC Transpo Sunday night warned commuters of a potential impact for Monday's commute caused by the weekend power failures.
Citizen transit commissioner Sarah Wright Gilbert confirmed to 1310 NEWS Monday morning that there was a collision between two trains over the weekend resulting in them being taken out of service.
Tunney's, Pimisi, Cyrville, Parliament and St Laurent stations all experienced problems with power on the weekend. Transit user Catherine Grant posted a video to Twitter Saturday showing sparks and smoke coming from one of the cables on top of the train.
So my daughter is on the LRT and sends me this. Is it supposed to be sparking and smoking? #ottLRT #isitsafe #OttawaLRT #worriedmum @LRT_Ottawa @mattfharris @OC_Transpo @CFRAOttawa @ctvottawa pic.twitter.com/rqY7NAI8kd

Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) told OC Transpo that the power issues the trains were experiencing would result in fewer vehicles running along the LRT Confederation Line Monday morning.
Only nine trains are running for the Monday morning commute on the Confederation Line. 13 trains are needed for full service during peak hours.
All route cancellations and trip alerts can be found on the OC Transpo website.
