The City of Ottawa plans to install 17 additional automated speed enforcement (ASE) cameras.

In a memo, the City said they plan to have a total of 40 city-wide automated speed enforcement (ASE) cameras by the end of this year.

Last year, 15 speed camera installations were planned, but only nine were completed, and the remaining six were pushed to the spring of this year, according to the memo.

Ottawa city council approved the ASE program and the School Bus Camera Pilot Projects Report, which was made permanent in October 2021.

The report indicated that the cameras would be installed at the rate of anywhere between 15 and 25 new locations every year over the 2022 to 2026 term of council. Eleven of the speed cameras will be installed within school areas.

The new (ASE) locations include:

  • Jeanne D'Arc Boulevard N. from Paddler Way/Vorlage Drive to Orléans Boulevard
  • Cedarview Road from Fallowfield Road to roughly 217m south of Fallowfield Road
  • Cambrian Road from Greenbank Road to Kilbirnie Drive
  • Woodroffe Avenue from Anthony Avenue to Saville Row
  • Riverside Drive from Mooney's Bay Place to Ridgewood Avenue
  • First Avenue from Chrysler Street to Percy Street
  • Heron Road from Finn Crescent to Baycrest Drive
  • Portobello Boulevard from Capreol Street/Martello to Aquaview Drive
  • Spratt Road from Canyon Walk Drive to Shoreline Drive
  • Kelly Farm Drive from Shepody Circle to Findlay Creek Drive
  • Stonehaven Drive from Bridle Park Drive to Tandalee Crescent
