Driver facing charges after wrong-way speeding on 401 near Belleville

A 76-year-old is facing charges after a vehicle was speeding and going the wrong way on Highway 401.
The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say just after 10 a.m. Wednesday, they received a number of 911 calls about a driver going the wrong way on the highway in Belleville.
Police clocked the vehicle going 150 km/h in the westbound lanes, going east. The car was stopped in Trenton without incident.
The driver, from Mississauga, is facing charges of stunt and careless driving.
The accused's driver's license was suspended for seven days and additionally, the vehicle was also impounded for seven days. The 76-year-old, who has not been named by police, is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 1.
