Heat warning continues for Ottawa

Another scorcher of a day is in store for the capital on Monday, and it looks like it has the potential to be record-breaking. 

The hottest July 16 recorded so far at the Ottawa Airport was 33.9 degrees, in 1968. 

1310 NEWS Meteorologist Jill Taylor's guaranteed high for Monday is 34. She's forecasting humidex values to be near 41. 

It appears some relief is on it's way, though. Thunderstorms are expected to roll through eastern Ontario Monday night.

Monday: 
Sun and cloud — hot and humid — with a chance of showers or thunderstorms late in the afternoon. High 34 C (humidex near 41 C)

Monday evening: 
Scattered thunderstorms. Temperature near 28 C

Overnight: 
Scattered showers and thunderstorms ending. Morning low 21 C 

Tuesday: 
Sun and cloud with humidity dropping. High 28 C

Wednesday: 
Sun and cloud. Morning low 13 C, high 26 C

Thursday: 
Sunny. Morning low 12 C, high 29 C

Friday: 
Sun and cloud. Morning low 16 C, high 31 C
