Kingston police arrest and charge individual for stabbing father for not making dinner

Kingston police officers arrested and charged a 38-year-old resident after the individual stabbed their father with a kitchen knife for not making them dinner. 

The Kingston Police Service said the incident took place on Feb. 20 at 7:40 p.m. at a residence on Market Street in downtown Kingston. 

Police said the accused was upset that their father had not made them any food and stabbed the victim in the upper torso after an argument broke out. 

The victim was transported to the hospital with a serious, but non-life threatening injury, police said. 

The suspect was charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for committing an offence.
