Magee House demolition goes to council

By Alex Black

Ottawa City Council is set to vote on whether or not to demolish Magee House in Hintonburg.

The City of Ottawa Planning Committee has already approved an application to demolish what remains of the designated heritage property at 1119 Wellington St. W.

Magee House is a Hintonburg landmark, which partially collapsed in July.

A follow-up engineering report recommended demolishing the rest of the building by late November because conservation cannot be carried out safely.

Council will vote on the application on Wednesday.
