Montebello Rockfest unlocking days’ worth of archived footage for virtual 2020 event

Montebello Rockfest is offering an alternative for music fans who are going to miss the summer festival experience, due to COVID-19.

From June 19 to 21 it plans to release more than 50 hours of archived footage from bands it's hosted over the last 15 years, including System of a Down, Blink-182, Rammstein, Linkin Park, Motley Crue, The Offspring, Deftones, Korn, Limp Bizkit, NOFX, Pennywise, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie and more.

The ability to view the footage will come at a cost, however.

In a Facebook post, the festival explains that its 'weekend passes' will cost $34.99 — that includes access to the full digital library over the course of the three days. Daily tickets will cost $19.99, and festival 'attendees' will have the option of adding a 2020 wristband for $4.99.

The way it works is each ticket buyer will receive a “unique non-shareable link,” according to festival organizers. Each weekend pass holder will also get a $10 discount code off the regular price for the 2021 festival.

The festival hasn't released the number of tickets that will be made available but says it wants to keep the experience exclusive, so it tickets will be given on a first-come-first-served basis.

Tickets go on sale, May 28 at 12 p.m.
