New bus stop added to Gatineau Park shuttle

By CityNews Ottawa

The National Capital Commission (NCC), in partnership with Transcollines, is offering more ways to explore Gatineau Park this summer, with a new bus stop at Breton Beach, at Philippe Lake.

On Saturdays and Sundays, from July 23 to September 4, 2022, the Philippe Lake area can be explored free of charge using public transit.  The Transcollines 924 line will be extended to the Breton Beach parking lot, allowing people to travel there from Galeries de Hull, the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre and other stops along the way.

Activities available at Breton Beach include swimming in Philippe Lake, renting a non-motorized boat and exploring the trails.

Transcollines buses are not accessible to people with reduced mobility. However, paratransit is available free of charge (reservations required). Transportation requests must be received by Transcollines by noon on the Friday preceding the desired service. Breton Beach is partially wheelchair-accessible.

Visit the NCC website for more information.

The Gatineau Park shuttle, provided by the NCC, in partnership with the Société de transport de l'Outaouais, will be in service until August 28, 2022.

The shuttle provides round-trip service between Ottawa, Gatineau and the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre in Chelsea, and stops at popular destinations along the parkways. The service is free this year, and the shuttles and stops are accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Visit the Gatineau Park shuttle page to plan your outing.
