Ottawa man charged following carjacking

Ottawa Police have laid ten charges against an 18-year old Ottawa man in connection with a Tuesday carjacking and attempted robbery in the west end.
Patrol officers were called around 9:30 Tuesday morning to a parking lot at Woodroffe Ave., and Baseline Rd..
Officials say a passer-by had frightened off the suspect, who was gone by the time police arrived.
Police were able to identify a suspect from interviews at the scene and located the suspect later that day in the Hazeldean Road area of Kanata
According to police, the suspect was driving a car that had been stolen earlier in the day from the Deerfield Dr. area of Nepean.
A suspect was arrested after a brief chase.
Ryan Lunney is charged with:
- Attempted robbery
- Assault
- Impersonation
- Breaking and Entering with Intent
- Theft of Motor vehicle
- Flight from Police
- Resist arrest
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor vehicle
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
He is scheduled to appear at show cause court today.
