Police services dogs help nab break and enter suspect and driver who failed to stop for authorities over weekend

By CityNews Ottawa

Police service dogs (PSDs) were busy on Sunday, Feb. 26 in incidents in the east and west ends of the city.

In the east end, police service dog Karat helped patrol officers locate and arrest a man who committed a break and enter and later fled on foot.

In the west end on the same day, police service dog Carlo tracked and located a driver who failed to stop for police. The driver later crashed their car and was arrested.

PSDs are deployed with their handlers every day and every shift.

They help while patrolling the streets and with other investigative units
