UPDATE: Power restored to more than 11,600 Hydro Ottawa customers

UPDATE: According to Hydro Ottawa at 1:15 p.m., Wednesday, all power has been restored.

A few major power outages across Ottawa have 11,647 homes and businesses in the dark.

Hydro Ottawa says the outage is due to a loss of supply from the provincial grid. It happened at 12:38 p.m., Wednesday.

According to the utility's outage centre, power should be restored to areas in the following wards by 3 p.m.:

Innes
Gloucester-Southgate
Cumberland, College
Knoxdale-Merivale
River
