Prime minister visits Ottawa bakery targeted by robbers

By Jason White

The parade of politicians showing support for a small Ottawa bakery robbed twice in a matter of days continued with the prime minister.

Justin Trudeau and Ottawa Centre MP Yasir Naqvi  tweeted out their support for Elgin Street's Brown Loaf Bakery after paying a visit, Wednesday afternoon.

“Evidently, we weren't the only one who wanted to show our support — they were sold out of almost everything,” the prime minister tweeted.

The bakery has received an outpouring of support since this month's two robberies. In one of them, the owner's hand was broken.

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson and Ottawa Centre MPP Joel Harden were also among those stopping by the bakery to show their support.
