Registration now open for fall ‘Cleaning the Capital’ campaign

Registration is now open for the 2022 fall 'Clean the Capital' campaign in Ottawa. 

Since 'Cleaning the Capital' began in 1994, over 1.6 million volunteers have participated, and it is estimated that over 1,350,000 kilograms (kg) of waste has been removed from our public spaces.

Thanks to nearly 30,000 participants, the spring campaign was a big success with over 890 projects registered and approximately 24,000 kg of waste collected. 

Registration is open until Sept. 30 and can be done can be easily done online. You can choose from a variety of public spaces to help clean up, such as community parks, roadsides, and shorelines.

Here are some important dates for the fall campaign:

  • Aug. 15: Registration opens
  • Sept. 15 to Oct. 15: Fall 'Cleaning the Capital' campaign
  • Sept. 30: Registration closes
  • Oct. 31: Deadline to submit your online cleanup report
