‘Rolling Thunder’ by-law crackdown to start early Friday morning

As of Friday, any vehicles found parked in special event no stopping zones in the “Rolling Thunder” event area will be ticketed and towed.
Ottawa By-law warning comes a day before members of the convoy are expected to make their way to the capital city.
The enforcement, by-law says, will start as of 7 a.m. on Friday, April 29.
Ottawa’s interim police chief, Steve Bell, issued a warning on Thursday, April 28 saying that the city will not tolerate any sort of longer-term occupation in the city.
While the motorcycle convoy says it plans to leave Ottawa by Sunday, the chief says his officers are ready to act if they see signs of encampments or other plans to stay.
By-law says it will also enforce all by-laws regarding noise, litter, fireworks and stopping.
Unnecessary motor vehicle or other noise (including speakers), public urination and defecation, open air fires and lighting are among the actions that will not be tolerated by by-law, which could result in issued infractions.
