The the program, the Vanier HUB has received $230,000 to deliver diverse, inclusive, family-friendly bilingual programming throughout summer 2022.

The funding will also support infrastructure purchases, a large-scale mural addition to the neighbourhood and painted crosswalks honouring the francophone and Indigenous communities.

“This grant will be truly transformational for the Vanier BIA, our partners and our beautiful community,” said ZAC Vanier BIA executive director Nathalie Carrier in a release. “The people of Vanier, many of which are from equity deserving groups, will have free, diverse and inclusive programming almost every day of the week from now until the fall.”

The Vanier HUB is a community space located at 271 Marier Avenue which will offer daytime and evening programming from July to October, including sports, music, movies and a campfire series. The official opening of the Vanier HUB is set for Wednesday, June 29 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
