In an effort to bridge the gap between officers and young people, the Ottawa Police Service will be hosting an event in Overbrook.
Staff Sergeant John Mbakulo says they'll be discussing various issues Wednesday evening.
“Issues will range from the laws around consent, curfew, youth criminal justice act,” he explained. “Concerns about the upcoming changes to the decriminalization of cannabis.”
The event will be an open forum, but officers will be around to answer questions of a private matter as well.
Mbakulo said that this will be the first of many events to be held across the city.
Wednesday's event is being held at the Rideau-Rockliffe Resource Centre, 225 Donald Street at 6 p.m.
