The province's Special Investigations Unit is looking for witnesses of an incident between a 19-year-old man and Ottawa Police Service officers in Heron Gate.
Police were called to the Food Basics on Heron Road at Walkley Road around 11 a.m. on March 7.
The SIU said officers chased a person of interest, as he ran when they showed up to the scene.
The man was arrested on Walkley Road, in front of the grocery store, and was taken to hospital with a serious injury.
Two SIU investigators have been assigned to this incident. One OPS officer and three witness officers have been identified.
The Special Investigations Unit is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529. The Unit is also urging anyone who may have video evidence to upload that video through the SIU website.
